SUPER DELAY 30A

The SUPER DELAY 30A is a true analogue Bucket Brigade
Delay designed by Michael Irwin. The 30A takes the basic delay features found in the legion of pedals and delay racks of the past and proceeds to advance the art to
a new state for modular synthesis application. Delay times are min. 7.8ms and max. 8 seconds.
This unique design combines dual Matsushita MN3005 BBDs (8192 stages of delay) with two 6 pole butterworth tracking filters to provide extra long, clean delays.
There is an onboard compander for further noise reduction

Voltage control of wet/dry mix, regeneration and delay time provide maximum control.
An external feedback loop path allows for additional processing with Frequency shifters, Phasers, Filters etc for
even more advanced sound mangling. An internal Filter override switch permits the optional exploration of the unusual effects of aliasing that most delays attempt to filter out.

See Manual PDF

see the Sound page for mp3 examples

Features:

Input
The Delay input level is adjusted using the Level control attenuator.

Output

The output is the combined wet/dry mix of delay and source signal

Feedback in and out

These are the external feedback loop points for sending out
the delay regeneration signal for processing. There is a toggle switch to set for external or internal (normal) feedback.

Auto/Manual mode switch
Auto Mode:
with switch set to auto the internal anti aliasing filter tracks the delay time so that as delay time becomes longer the filter reduces the cutoff point to match
Manual mode: with switch set to manual mode the internal filter is controlled by the manual filter potentiometer on the front panel

Wet/Dry Mix
The amount of delay signal mixed with dry signal is controlled by the panel pot and mix CV input

Regeneration
Regeneration can be set from none to infinite repeat
There are three controls for regeneration depth.
A pot for manual control, CV input and an attenuator
for CV amount.

Delay
Delay time is set with a panel pot or by control voltage.
There is also a +/- inverting or non inverting attenuator.
With the DLY CV AMT attenuator fully clock or anti- clock wise the delay time follows a 1V/Oct response
