Panner 2.mp3 - 872k
This sample features the Panner/VCA 11a in action. The sound is
produced by feeding an Oscillator 01a through the Multimode 10a using
the Bandpass output with some resonance. The Sequencer 17a was used
for the pattern along with several other modules i.e.. Envelope Gen. and Dual LFO etc.

Drum Mangler.mp3 - 844k
This is a drum loop from a sampler being processed through the Lowpass filter 02a which is being modulated by an Oscillator whose pitch is being controlled by the voltage from an analogue sequencer stepping in time with the drum loop. Therefore each drum hit is getting a different filter modulation rate.

Bounce Bass.mp3 - 853k
Lowpass 02a filter with some cross-modulation on the 2 oscillators.

Pinger.mp3 - 1.11mb
A snappy sequence demonstrating the sounds capable of the Ring Mod
section of the Noise/S&H/Ring 07a as well the fast attack times possible
with the 04a Envelope Generators

Drum Processor.mp3 - 233k
Another example of external sound processing through modulated filters.

Wavetable.mp3 - 815k
A short multitrack sequence featuring the Wavetable 19a module using three
different waveforms , one for each musical part.

Sound demos of the Frequency Shifter.
The original FS spec was revised
to included Thru-Zero operation as well as sum and difference outputs for simultaneous up and
downshift outputs. Increased range and added compander combine
to make the new design an advanced sound processing module.
Available for order now.
The Frequency Shifter was designed by Michael Irwin.

Noise sweep 201k
Pink noise swept by the FS. No reverb was added even
though it sounds like it.

Delay Feedback 1.mp3 396k
Delay Feedback 2.mp3 641k
Two examples of the FS in the feedback loop of the Super Delay module.
The descending echoes were created using high regeneration
settings with the Super Delay feedback loop jacks connected to the FS
In and outs.

S.A.R.S..mp3 441k
An example of voice processing with the FS.
Radio discussion of a disease that has put Toronto on the map.
The up and down shifted signals are panned left and right
in the stereo field.

Tuned noise.mp3 547k
Here the FS is processing pink noise and tracking the 1V/oct
input making a tuned line from un pitched program material.

Kneel Yung.mp3 1094k
Folky turns Alien. Up and downshift panned left and right.

Instant DJ.mp3 800k
Who needs turntables?

pitchedsaw.mp3 183k
static.mp3 183k
Two examples of sequenced tracking of the Frequency
Shifter processing static waveforms. In both cases
the source material were very low audio frequency sawtooth waves.

Here are some mp3s made using the
Super Delay 30a module.

Another FX module from the FX guru Michael Irwin, this is a
true analog delay utilizing two MN3005 BBD ICs
for a total of 8192 stages of delay.
Two BBDs provide a high bandwidth,
hi-fidelity sound with the warmth characteristics of analog delay.
This module has the full implementation of Voltage control parameters
including: Wet/dry mix, Regeneration, Delay time and also a
separate input path for feedback loop processing.

The following mp3s feature the new Reverb 31a module.
This is a spring reverb using the Accutronics 3 spring long tank.
Voltage controlled wet/dry mix and a feedback loop control
make this a versatile reverb suitable for the high frequency demands
of synthesizer application.

The following mp3s are demos using the
Signal Arts Performance Sequencer.

These demos were done using the SA sequencers onboard Voltage and trigger outs and a few Modcan modules. Sample based midi
experiments and a couple of combined analogue and midi tests are also included.

Multiple sequences can run in parallel or series switching in and out using the 8 front panel switches, creating the effect of multiple tracks and adding considerably to the sequence complexity.

No overdubbing was done.
All events were triggered in real time by the Signal Arts sequencer
and recorded directly to disk.

Combined midi and analogue

Drumandmodcan The drum loop was done by chopping
up the loop with Recycle and then triggering the individual hits
with the sequencer.

Ethnobeat The drums (K2000 Factory drums) were done
by programming a couple of sequences and then triggering them
manually with the performance toggle switches
